#YouMatterECU Workshops
What is the #YouMatterECU Workshop?
#YouMatterECU is a campus and community-wide effort to normalize conversations around mental health struggles, connect students to resources on and off campus, and to send a clear message that recovery is possible. This module is design to be an interactive learning experience with pre class self-reflection, in-class discussion on mental health topics, and post class experiential learning with the use of well-being related apps and strategies. After completing of this module, students will be able to:
- Define stress, anxiety, depression, and major life events
- Identify mental health resources on and off campus
- Act as an active bystander and refer friends to help
- Implement apps and strategies to reduce one’s own stress and anxiety
This workshop was an outcome from the ECU Well-Being Collective and was developed by Valerie Kisler-Van Reede, PhD (Director of the Center for Counseling & Student Development), Lauren Thorn, MSW (Director of the Center for Student Success), and Steven Trotter, MS, ACSM-EP (Director of Well-Being).
