Employee Well-Being Institute

Campus Recreation and Wellness (CRW) and Human Resources partner to bring you the ECU Employee Well-Being Institute (EWI). These sessions areopen to all SHRA, EHRA, and CSS employees and are designed to provide ECU employees with an opportunity to unleash the five essential elements of well-being. The goal of the EWI is for participants to incorporate new healthful habits into their daily lives. We are here to help you THRIVE!

Want to know the basics of the Five Elements of Well-Being? We’re glad you asked. Here’s a quick rundown on them.

  • Career – How you occupy your time during the day and is it fulfilling.
  • Social – The quality of relationships in your life.
  • Financial – Your financial security.
  • Physical – Being able to live an independent life
  • Community – Feeling safe and involved in giving back to your community

The course will be taught on the principles of Discover, Explore, Live. The EWI is a 6-week program that meets in-person weekly on Wednesdays and will consist of interactive class experiences and discussions. Through the exploration process, our hope is participants will adopt practices that will become a part of their daily life, become Well-Being Champions for the University, and promote well-being to others through their lived experiences.

What should you expect when participating in the EWI?

  • Discover Name and understand the 5 Essential Elements of Well-being as they relate to holistic health and well-being.
  • ExploreAcquire skills to use available tools, strategies, and resources that enhance overall well-being.
